Following a brain healthy diet can help boost your memory and brain health. In this post, I will go over the different types of food that may help prevent memory loss and also help with other neurological conditions. The best foods for the brain also are good for the heart. MIND diet has been shown to improve mental function. This diet combines the Mediterranean diet and the DASH diet. Below are key components of the MIND diet.


- Whole grains (3 servings per day)

- Green leafy vegetables (6 servings per week)

- Berries (2 servings per week)

- Fish (1 serving per week

- Poultry (2 servings per week)

- Beans (more than 3 servings per week)

- Nuts (6 servings per week)

- Olive Oil

- Red wine one serving per day


Limit the following foods

- Cheese

- Butter

- Margarine

- Pastries/Sweets

- Fastfood

- Fried food

- Red Meat

- Processed meats
